Sweet Summer Sun Tea

This summer heat and humidity is about to completely drain the life out of me. I feel like I can’t do anything until after 9 PM because it is too hot to do anything that requires extra warmth in the house, you know like cooking, laundry, showering or just any general housework. The bad part is, I’m on the countdown to the beginning of the school year and I don’t have this time to waste.

So, last night I decided to get busy cleaning out the kitchen cabinets. I decided to get rid of anything and everything that wasn’t absolutely necessary or useful at some point in the past year. I happened to come across a beverage dispenser that I had bought years ago to make sweet tea. I’ve only used it once. Yikes!Cole & Audrey had never had sun tea, so we decided to make a jar today.

John usually makes the tea at our house because he does a much better job at it. I love tea, but don’t ever seem to get it right. Today was different. The sun that I normally blame for my heat induced lack of motivation actually pulled through for us. In less than an hour and a half, we had a beautiful maple syrup colored jar of sweet tea.

It looked so pretty and tasted so good and sweet that I think I just might keep the jar now. So much for that empty spot in the cabinet.
