Don’t hate me for enjoying a little gift wrapping…

Tonight, I started wrapping Christmas presents, not out of advanced planning, but necessity. Audrey is still two, so she successfully visits every nook and cranny of our house every single day. At this point, every place I’ve tried to strategically plan ends up being in the way.  So, I decided to sneak into the bedroom while she was playing with Cole and I got all of her gifts wrapped and ready to put under the tree.

Last month, I bought a Scotch pop-up tape handband dispenser and I can’t believe how much easier gift wrapping has been so far. I seriously don’t know how I ever managed before.  If you don’t have one,  you need to run out and buy one before you even think about starting wrapping gifts this year. I got mine at the Dollar Tree, so it was super cheap! :)

Ahhh, life is good when I find something that makes this crazy life seem easier!  Plus, I got the cutest Disney Princesses wrapping paper with Audrey’s favorite, Princess Aurora/Sleeping Beauty at Karen’s Yard Sale for $1/roll! Now, if I could just find something cute for Cole. He’s not a ‘believer’ this year, so it actually makes life easier. :) I don’t have to try to find different papers from us and the man in the big red suit. I probably need to find something a little more grown up for him instead of themed paper.

What do you do to make gift wrapping easier? (Paying someone to do it is out for me because I’m too frugal.)

Now, to go figure out where I wrapped my ambition for addressing Christmas card envelopes. :)

  1. I am a very lazy gift wrapper! I just cut the paper and wrap it around the package and tape it up! That's it. No bows, no ribbons, nothing. I don't know why, I just don't like going to a lot of effort. But I really like it when people do all that to my presents and I appreciate it.

But I did do an Excel sheet on my Christmas cards this year, and merged into Word for address labels! I'm also making notes of who sent us cards in the same spreadsheet. Will make it much easier next year.

    Happy Holidays!

  2. Kelly, I am so impressed that you do an Excel sheet! I have done this with addresses to save from year to year, but never kept track of anything. :)

Half the time the bows and things I stick to our packages end up falling off in the bags. Sometimes I wish people came to our house so we didn't have to transport them. Sometimes, they are even opened on the edges because they presents get flung around in the bag and the present pokes through the paper. :) For now, I just blame it on my children. Hee, hee!

  3. I'm on my 3rd year with my pop-up dispenser. It is by far my favorite product ever made. It is so comfortable that I've even caught myself leaving the house with it still attached.

Two years ago, I found a bunch of the refills on clearance at Target, but I've exhausted them this year. The kids had a blast playing with and wasting them all. Mom swears by her desk tape dispenser.. if she only knew!
