Happiness....

Happiness...not in another place but this place, not for another hour but this hour.
-Walt Whitman
Today has been one of those days that I haven't had the energy or motivation to do much of anything. It could have something to do with staying up too late a few nights ago or being up almost the entire last night with a teething baby. However, I'm starting to think it's the crazy, unpredictable, not-nearly-sunny-enough weather. Luckily, my mood swings aren't nearly as crazy of a roller coaster ride as our weather has been lately. This week we've seen severe flooding, a little snow, rain, heavy winds and 70 degree weather.

After talking to a friend, I finally found the motivation to get in a do a few extra things. Of course, they are all things that no one else would even notice I did, but it felt great nonetheless. ;) This led to going through a bunch of old Country Living, Country Home, etc. type magazines. I tore out all the things I liked to add to my inspiration and idea file and came across the cutest idea to cover boxes with fabric and ribbon. I'm going to recover the 6-8 photo boxes that are on my bookcase. Right now, they are all different colors and patterns because they were all purchased at different times. (I'll try to remember to post pictures when I finish.)

All of these ideas flooding through my head inspired me to try to do a few more crafty things this week. The first of which will be my photo boxes. On the last page of one of the magazines, I came across the quote above. So, I headed straight to my photos and found one of my favorites from last year at Grandparent's Day. It just oozes happy weather and cuteness, right? When I think about the things that make me happy here and now, I realize that my family members are wonderful contributors.

Thanks for the motivation, Alicia! ;)

  1. What a sweet picture!
For about the past two weeks we have had dreary weather. And I have had the mood to match (heehee) I cannot wait for spring to get here and stay!

I can't wait to see pictures of your boxes. That sounds like such a cute idea.

  2. I'm so sorry for keeping you up late. I know you have to as well with Audrey, but I will do better to make sure I'm not the reason. I couldn't do anything the next day as well. In fact, I have had about 3 days where I have been totally worthless. I think the weather has to change - and we will be reenergized! (like the bunny - lol)I sure would love to know the motivation sent your way - maybe it could help me as well! Cool idea with the boxes - can't wait to see!

  3. You're funny Michelle'. It wasn't you. Although I did stay up late working with you, Audrey got up 8 zillion times and I was trying to work on house stuff. I know you know that because she kept getting up while I was online with you. Multiply that times the entire rest of the night and getting very little done around our house. :)
