Nannie

Tonight we decided to go visit my grandma, Nannie, in the hospital. She has had quite a few rough weeks lately. About two weeks ago she fell in her garage after she was dropped off from church. She couldn’t get into the house, so she tried everything she could to get herself up, but ended up staying on the ground until her friends came back to pick her up for evening church services. Her poor leg and arms were hurt, but no bones were broken. Fast forward a week later and she is back in the hospital. She was having trouble breathing and she was also retaining fluid. Bless her heart!

Here’s a picture of her about 3 weeks ago when she went with us to Wild Animal Safari. I didn’t have the heart to ask her if I could take a picture of her in the hospital. Heaven knows I wouldn’t want my picture taken!

Totally unrelated, but her favorite animal at the park was the zebra. I really need to make this picture fun to send to her.  Tonight she mentioned how interesting she found the zebras stripes because they went all the way up into their manes. :)

Audrey demonstrating her fabulous eye rolling technique. We aren’t nearly as annoying  & silly as she thinks we are.

When we got to the hospital, it was about time for the nurse’s to do their rounds, so we spent a bit out in the hall while Nannie was being checked out.
Audrey and I had lessons on the tile shapes on the floor while John and Cole decided to walk up and down the stairs from the 4th floor to the ground and back up again.

I took a picture beforehand because I was pretty sure they wouldn’t make it back up. I was wrong. Hee, hee!

After visiting with Nannie a bit, we decided to leave so she could get some rest. The boys thought it would be fun to walk back down the stairs.

I thought it was cute when Audrey was looking down the stairs at Cole. I’m pretty sure the people watching hospital security videos think we are nuts. They’re right!

We enjoyed our visit with Nannie and she was in good spirits. We are praying that the doctors will figure out what is causing her dizzy spells so she can regain a sense of normalcy. She won’t be allowed to go home until at least Monday. Please keep her in your prayers.

  1. Love the zebra pic! (The one of Audrey rolling her eyes is great too!)
