Good luck on the MAP test!

I'm a tad bit nervous for Cole for tomorrow. It's his first day of MAP testing.

After attending a MAP (Missouri Assessment Program) testing meeting a few weeks ago, I became painfully aware of how much pressure is placed on students grade 3 and up to perform their best on the MAP test. Even though I'm an educator, I do not place a lot of value in standardized testing. However, I know that my child will be taking part and I want to encourage him to do the best he can. The school has a saying for this year to encourage students. It is Learn it! Know it! Show it! and they ordered bracelets for all of the students with the saying on it. They even had a kick-off assembly to get the kids excited. They have lots of great rewards and prizes, too. I'm proud that our school is trying so hard to prepare the kids, yet not stress them out, at the same time.

I know you're a smart cookie, Cole, and I feel like you realize how much importance this test holds for your school. You are the smartest third grader I know. :) I love you, Bubby and I know you'll be successful.
