Remember my post about wanting snow days? I think this is where the saying ask and you shall receive comes in! Tomorrow will make day 4 of being home and it's been 99% bliss! I have managed to do lots of things with my kiddos and things around the house that make my heart happy. If you walked through my front door right now, you wouldn't think I've lifted a finger to clean, but I promise that the house has been picked up once each day. :) Okay, it wasn't all at the same time, but seriously, kids live here.
Here's a list of lots of things we've done since Tuesday evening:
-Audrey and I made homemade coffeecake.
-I started filling out my forms to become a Make-A-Wish granter with my friend Kristi.
-Cole made snow angels right outside the kitchen window for our viewing pleasure.
-John drug out the tobboggan and took Cole and Audrey for lots of slip, sliding adventures in the yard.
-I made 13 hairbows. All but two are for my little sweetie! I'm blessing a friend with two she was needing for her precious girl.
-Audrey and I made homemade blueberry muffins with berries John and Cole had frozen from a jaunt they went on this summer.
-Cole and John bonded over old baseball DVD's.
-I've managed to talk to Mrs. Cunningham more in four days than the entire year we've worked together. How does that happen?
-Cole made grilled cheese sandwiches for anyone who would eat them.
-Audrey said, "Mine" and "Yours" when playing with water guns. Somehow she always ended up with the red one.
-I worked on Audrey's baby book and Cole's school years book.
-I painted our kitchen door.
-Play Doh made an appearance in the kitchen (and living room and bedroom and...we're still finding pieces everywhere).
-I caught up on blog reading and read a few chapters of another book.
-I paid bills and balanced my checkbook.
-I bought a new toile bedding set after finding good coupon codes online. :)
-Audrey slept through the night almost completely two nights in a row. WOW!
-I cleaned out my ribbon stash.
-There are plans in the works to list lots of toys on Craigslist, but I keep putting it off. Do my plans to do it count for anything?
-I've talked on the phone with numerous people and haven't felt the least bit bad about all that still needs to be done.
Truly, I think God knew this momma needed some time at home. I don't know how normal people with normal jobs do it when it snows and the kids are at home. I feel pretty blessed to have the time to be a family if it comes one snowflake or one blizzard at a time.
